KOA Camping Gear

Ah summer! The perfect time to get out into nature and spend quality time with family while camping. One of the biggest campground operators, KOA, recently included Haikubox in it's Best New Camping Gear for 2025.

"Why We Love It: The Haikubox transforms birdwatching into an engaging, educational experience. Instead of simply listening passively, you’ll gain fascinating knowledge about your feathered campsite visitors. This device provides a wonderful way for families and friends to bond, turning every morning into a joyful exploration of wildlife together."

As long as your campground has wifi and your rig has power, your Haikubox can travel with you.

Something important to remember: you'll need to go through the Haikubox Connect process with the smartphone app to get your Haikubox connected to any new wifi network.  The Connect process not only let's your Haikubox learn the new wifi credentials, it also signals to the device to get new GPS coordinates. That's especially important if you travel to an entirely new location or ecosystem because the birds will be different in the two places.  If your Haikubox still thinks you are in the Upper Peninsula but you are actually in Tucson, it might think it is hearing a Pileated Woodpecker instead of a Gila Woodpecker.
