Exigences:
- Prise GFCI extérieure dans un endroit qui reçoit un bon signal du wifi de votre maison.
- Installation verticale ou suspendue à l'aide de vis en acier M4 pour les surfaces dures ou de boulons à ailettes M4 pour les murs creux, de 75 mm de long (non inclus).
- Un smartphone est requis pour l'installation à l'aide de l'application pour smartphone Haikubox Connect (disponible dans les magasins Google Play et iPhone).

Ordering was easy and the Haikubox showed up quickly. The app made connecting to my home network easy. It doesn't come with mounting hardware however. And the screw holes in the power supply transformer are small so a special trip to the hardware store. I hope that it will connect to my Merlin app to track my birds.
The order came quickly and installation was very easy. The operation of the box is great and inline with what you would expect from Merlin. Misidentification of species is dependent on external noise in the garden and placement of the box. It is nice to know I can listen to recordings once I return home and review what was heard and determine the validity of the ID. I would recommend this box to serious birders as well as new birders.
So far it all seems to be working as expected. The app interface takes some experimentation, but seems to have a lot of nice features.
Haiku reported 39 different birds in the first 48 hours - 4 we where not familiar with. Being able to see pictures and hear the recorded bird calls has been great. All four of the new birds appear to be reasonable for our location at this time of year.
Haiku box works great but will probably drop the annual subscription after the prepaid 5 years. Its just too expensive
We expect to keep the annual subscription cost as low as possible, while still covering the cloud computing and other cost of running thousands of inferences on each Haikubox every day. Currently, the annual renewal price is US $59 per year, or about $5/month.
